ABOUT THE PROJECT
Issue: Cambridge Organic Food Company (COFCO) are a key player in food sustainability in Cambridge and needed an extra pair of hands to secure sponsors, generate interest and run some PR around an event to fund a Food Hub in Cambridge.
Approach: COFCO approached Brick Marketing to define a PR plan around a sponsored wild swimming event along the Cam called “Swim the Cam”. We worked alongside Duncan to define a PR plan across social media, in the press and via radio.
Outcome: Through the PR plan and direct approaches Brick secured sponsorship for the event, raised awareness of the event, therefore, increasing individual sponsorship of the swimmers and successfully secured press and radio coverage of the event.
We engaged the services of Natalie to promote our event ‘Swim the Cam’. Through a mixed marketing approach that included press releases and social media Natalie played a crucial role in obtaining coverage from local press and radio. Natalie also managed to boost the number of participants in the event and attract sponsorship form the corporate sector.
